Y ojo a los easter eggs: en el minuto 1:26, eso acompañamiento instrumental no es otro que… ¡la música de la recreativa Donkey Kong! Y es que el simio parece ser clave en el juego: sabemos que Pauline será la alcaldesa de New Donk City, y el productor del juego, Yoshiaki Koizumi ha sugerido que quizás veamos al gorila. «No puedo decirlo ahora mismo. Pero Pauline está ahí y ya sabes… puede que ocurran cosas interesantes».
